Houston Area Pizza Hut® Delivers Fresh, Hot Pizzas To Hungry Flood Victims

(WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2017) – Recent flooding following Hurricane Harvey, left Houston neighborhoods underwater and residents trapped with low food supplies. Shayda Habib, Regional Manager for the local Sugarland Pizza Hut® (16635 W. Airport Blvd., Sugar Land, TX 77498) was out checking on her store when she heard families in the surrounding areas were trapped in their homes and running out of food. “When I heard there were families in need, I knew we needed to act fast.

I called my husband and asked him to gather up kayaks and meet me at the restaurant,” says Habib. With a limited crew, her team did what they do best and prepared as many pizzas as possible. Using their brand-new Oven HOT delivery pouches, the team delivered hot pizzas all day to the neighboring families! Pizza Hut® was fortunate to have the resources to be able to serve the community they live in and love!

“We are so proud of our team for seeing a need, stepping up and helping the community in a time of devastation,” says James Bodenstedt, Pizza Hut® franchisee.
