  • Comprehensive Medical Coverage

    Our medical plan is a PPO that covers medical and prescription expenses. There are two options, a standard PPO and high deductible PPO, with different deductibles, co-pays and coinsurance, so you can select the option that best meets your needs.

    Dental Insurance

    Our dental plan emphasizes preventative care, but also covers basic and major care. You can take the dental coverage along with the medical, or by itself as a stand-alone benefit.

    Vision Care

    A generous vision plan is available that can be elected individually or along with other benefits.

    Life, Accidental Death, and Dependent Life Insurance

    We offer a $50,000 life and accidental death and dismemberment benefit as a stand-alone benefit, and you can also select additional voluntary life and dependent life insurance (for spouse and children) up to a specified guaranteed issue without a questionnaire or physical.

    Short Term Disability

    Our short-term disability coverage is an elective program that provides protection against loss of income due to periods of incapacity caused by illness, accident or pregnancy for periods between one week and twelve weeks. Premiums are based on salary and age range.

    Long Term Disability

    Long term disability, which pays a percentage of your salary for qualified periods of incapacity lasting longer than ninety days, is available through our life insurance carrier. Premiums are based on salary and age range.

    Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts

    Employees can set aside pre-tax dollars from their paycheck to pay for miscellaneous medical expenses, which may include prescription and office visit co-pays, vision care, and dental care, among other things. Pre-tax dollars may also be set aside for dependent care (i.e., daycare) expenses up to $5,000.00 per year.

    401(k)

    Our 401(k) plan allows employees to save a portion of their earnings for retirement. We are pleased to offer both pre-tax and Roth options to better help you plan for the future! Employees are eligible to participate if they are at least 18 years old and have completed 6 months of service. The company does make a matching contribution.

    Cafeteria Plan

    Through the cafeteria (Section 125) plan, you will be allowed to pay all of your benefit premiums through payroll deductions, and many of them with pre-tax dollars.

    Personal Time Off (PTO)

    Accrual of Personal Time Off (PTO) begins for salaried employees on their first day of work and increases in amount as length of service increases. Salaried employees may accrue up to a maximum of 17 days per year depending on length of service.

    Tuition Reimbursement

    We are pleased to offer to our salaried employees (with at least one year of service) an excellent program, which helps them to continue their higher education pursuits. Tuition reimbursement is available for courses leading to an undergraduate degree at an accredited university or technical school. Reimbursement is based upon the grade earned for each course, and up to three courses may be reimbursed in any one semester.

    Training

    Our company is proud to provide excellent training programs through our affiliation with Wendy’s. We not only provide excellent job and leadership training courses, but also offer life skills training.

    Performance Bonus

    All levels of management are eligible for restaurant performance bonuses. Bonuses are based on several factors, including length of time in restaurant, restaurant sales and profits, and operational performance, among others. Bonuses are paid each period.

    Annual Reviews

    We believe in rewarding employees for good performance and a job well done, and reviews are a part of that process. Reviews are conducted every February.

    Uniforms

    We provide our restaurant employees with the proper equipment and uniforms to successfully perform their job at no cost. Uniforms are updated periodically and are provided through leading uniform companies.

    Meal Discounts

    Each of our restaurants provides a very generous meal discount for employees. All employees are entitled to complimentary meals on duty at their restaurants.  General Managers are entitled to complimentary meals, on or off duty, at their restaurants. Non-alcoholic beverages are provided at no cost to all employees throughout their shifts.

    Referral Bonuses

    Our referral program helps us recruit and maintain quality restaurant personnel. You become eligible for referral bonuses when you refer an applicant for a position at the same level as or higher than your own position, and they successfully work for the company for at least 90 days.

    Recognition Programs

    Our company culture promotes and advances the recognition program on a daily basis. We have several programs and opportunities to celebrate the success of our employees, including Voice of the Customer – VOC, Champion of the Month, and Service Awards to recognize years of service with the company.

    On Target

    We recognize those restaurants maintaining an On Target, Above Target, or Significantly Above Target rating on a monthly basis. The performance of each salaried manager is compiled and maintained on the balance scorecard. Those Restaurant General Managers with Above Target or Significantly Above Target for an entire year will be eligible for prizes in the “Best of the Best” program.

    Best of the Best

    Each year we will celebrate those Restaurant General Managers who have maintained a rating of Above Target or Significantly Above Target for the year. Celebrations vary from year to year, but have included complimentary trips for two to Las Vegas, NV, and Caribbean cruises.

    Qualified Leaves

    We recognize that employees occasionally need time off due to illness, injury, or personal situations. Because of this, the company offers not only Family Medical Leave (FMLA), but also Personal Leave of Absence, which may be granted on a case-by-case basis when FMLA does not apply.

    Direct Deposit

    We offer the convenience of the direct deposit program where your pay is deposited directly into you checking or savings account.

    Managers’ Meetings

    We believe in communication, recognition and incentive. All salaried managers will attend a manager’s meeting twice a year. These meetings bring all brands together for an informative, interactive and celebratory session. Lunch is always provided.

    Holidays and Celebrations

    To allow employees time with their families, restaurants may close annually on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  • Limited Benefit Medical Plan

    Ternian limited benefit plan is available to all full-time and part-time hourly employees (Team Members and Shift Managers), who complete 60 days of employment and who are not eligible for the company’s major medical plan. There are four coverage levels available to allow you greater flexibility, including a Minimum Essential Coverage plan that satisfies the Individual Mandate of the Affordable Care Act. The medical plans include vision and life insurance coverage.

    Dental Plan

    Ternian also offers a dental plan that can be taken with or without the medical plan, which includes reimbursement for preventive and basic dental procedures.
